The Gingole TH9 Base Design – Clash of Clans

The Gingole Walls Layout

As is with any clash of clans base design, placement of walls is the first and foremost task, right placement of walls not only slows down enemy attacks, it can also be used to funnel enemy troops into traps and giant bombs in order to easily eliminate or damage enemy armies. Strategic and early removal of major portions of any enemy attack ensures best defenses against them. The gingole TH9 base design includes both:

Walls to Slow down Enemy Troops

A minimum 2 layer lvl 8 and lvl9 walls are such positioned that they will withstand and slow down even armies with 8 to 10 wall breakers. The enemy will only be able to take out the outer most layer of walls with them. Resulting in a dramatic slowdown in all ground attacks. The Ides is to delay the progress of attacking troops and not allow them to survive till they reach the town hall.

Walls to funnel enemy troops into traps

Notice the zigzag walls on all the four sides! These walls are not placed there for show or to improve the look of the base design. They are there for a purpose. They are such positioned that the enemy will have to deploy a good portion of their troops in order to eliminate the first layer of defenses and boom they will be faced with giant bombs strategically positioned on all 4 sides. Troops like herds of barbarians, archers, giants and wizards will get maximum damaged or eliminated pretty early on.

So, without further ado, her is the walls placement layout. You may use the gingole wall placement layout if you like it to further build your base of if you are interested in the Gingole final farming and trophy base design, read on..

The Gingole Giant Bombs Positioning

As stated above now is the time to place our giant bombs into our base design. Since maxed out giant bombs can ensure considerable damage to enemy ground troops, we will position them just between our first line of defenses, This will ensure that considerable damage is done to the first wave of attacking troops and the attacker is forced to deploy their second line of troops or their healing spells (if they are carrying them) quite early on even before they have broken into any of the walls!

See below the placement and positioning of the giant bombs within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

The Gingole Archer Towers & Canons Placement

Now that the giant bombs are positioned, we need to start placing our first line of defense buildings. These are the Archer Towers and the Canons. Ideally We will position one archer tower and one canon on each side of the giant bombs. Typically both these defense units will provide protection to each other, so, if an attacker want to attack from any side he will have to attack both the units together. further, positioning a ground defense (the canon) along with the Archer Tower (which is a ground and air defense) we ensure that the opponent cannot get away by using air attack troops to for example destroy the canons.

See below the placement and positioning of the Archer Towers and the Canons within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

The Gingole Finalizing the Outer Defense Layer

Lets now position the balance archer towers, canon and one tesla on the outer layer of the base to complete the first line of defense. This first outer defense layer will help protect our inner storages and important vulnerable buildings that need both defensive support and protection against attack. They will ensure that most of the attack troops either get completely irradiated or greatly damaged before they can gain access to the loot & Town Hall.

See below the placement and positioning of the balance defenses in order to complete the outer defense layer  within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

The Gingole Town Hall And Clan Castle Placemnt

Now that we have an outer complete layer of defenses, we can proceed to position our town hall and clan castle within the base design. Depending on the purpose of making the base, you may decide to position the town hall close to the clan castle for trophy or war base designs and on the outside for farming base design. Some people do chose to place the town hall inside only for even farming base design (specially when they do not have considerable loot to give away).

Clan castle typically should always be positioned within the middle of any base design, this is done to ensure that the attacker cannot lure out the clan castle troops and destroy them easily. See below how the range of the clan castle is covered by the outer defense layer and clan castle troops cannot be lured out before destroying at least one of the outer defense buildings.

In our case and for the purpose of making this base design I will choose to position the townhall adjacent to the clan castle within the final wall layer as shown below:

Placement of Town hall & clan castle into the Gingole TH9 Base Desgin

The Gingole Air Defenses Placement

Now that we have the town-hall in position, we can go ahead and place the air defenses. Ideal air defense placement is that each air defense tower’s range should cover the town hall. i.e., the town hall should be well covered by all 4 air defenses, further to make the design even better and anti hound, it is important that any air defense should be protected by at least one more air defense. In order to understand what I mean to say, see below the placement and positioning of the air defense towers  within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

Placement of Air Defense Towers into the Gingole TH9 Base Desgin

The Gingole 4 mortars Placement

Now that the air defense towers are in place, we move on the position the 4 mortars. Placement of the mortars is always done relative to the base design and the position of the townhall. Mortars are known to do heavy splash damage to barbarians, archers and goblins. Thus they should ideally cover a good portion of the outer defenses as well to be more effective.  Further, mortars also work pretty well in taking out lvl 5 and below giants, thus, each mortar should be supported within the cover area of another mortar in order to get protection when attacking troops are within the red circle (the no attack blind spot of a mortar).

See below the placement and positioning of the 4 mortars  within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

Placement of the 4 mortars into the Gingole TH9 Base Desgin

The Gingole Wizard Towers Placement

Now that the mortars are in place, the next important splash damage defense building is the wizard towers. Both the mortars and the wizard towers are known to deliver exceptional damage to troops in herds. Thus, positioning the wizard towers way too much inside the base design will not help. Placing them where if by change the herds of archers or barbarians or minions or goblins can get though will be ideal. Wizard towers will take them out easily.

See below the placement and positioning of the 4 wizard towers  within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

Placement of the 4 wizard towers into the Gingole TH9 Base Desgin

The Gingole Tesla Towers Placement

Now that the wizard towers are in place it’s time to add some surprise element to the base by placing tesla towers in the defense needy portion of the base i.e., close to the town hall and 1 tesla tower in a very unsuspecting position just to create some kind of surprise to the attacker forcing him to make some kind of mistake (finding a tesla in a place where he least expects). Tesla are double effective against PEKKAs and thus positioning them well to defend against PEKKAs is also very important.

See below the placement and positioning of the 3 remaining Tesla Towers within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

Placement of the Tesla towers into the Gingole TH9 Base Desgin

The Gingole X-Bows Placement

Now that most of the defenses are well positioned within our base design, it is time to position the very important 2 X-Bows. Ideally X-bows should be positioned as close to the townhall as possible at they defends well against both air and ground attacks (if set in the air and ground settings). They are the maximum damage delivering defenses and thus should be positioned well within the third and final layer of buildings next to the town hall and the clan castle.

See below the placement and positioning of the 2 x-bows within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

Placement of the X-Bows into the Gingole TH9 Base Desgin

The Gingole Heros Placement

After successful placement of the x-bows, it’s time to position the heros i.e., the barbarian king and the queen. To gain maximum protection against attacks and to save a major share of the available loot, both the heros should be positioned in such a way that they not only cover all resource storages, majority of the defense building, but also protect the town hall. Thus their positioning is the most crucial and should only be done after all other defenses have been positioned.

See below the placement and positioning of the Barbarian King and the Queen within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

Placement of the Barbarian King & The Queen into the Gingole TH9 Base Desgin

The Gingole Resource Storages Placement

Now that the defense buildings are out of the way, it is time to place the resource storages. Ideally, the DE Strage (the dark elixir storage) should be positioned well within the final layer of defenses in order to protect the dark elixir from being looted. Second most important is to protect the elixir and the gold. Try to position as many resource storages as possible within the second layer of defenses. However it may not always be possible to do that, you may include some storages within the final layer of defenses as well.

See below the placement and positioning of the DE Storage and the elixir and gold storages within the Gingole TH9 Base Design:

Placement of the DE, gold and elixir storages into the Gingole TH9 Base Desgin

The Gingole Final Traps, Resource Collectors & Decoration Placement

Finally, we are ready to place the remaining traps which includes: 6 spring traps, 2 skeleton traps, 6 small bombs, 4 seeking air mines and 4 air bombs. Once these traps are in position, we can go ahead and position the resource collectors. Position the two dark elixir drills, 6 gold mines, elixir collectors, decorations etc.
